Proof of Performance

The Epstein School’s bilingual academic program has been recognized nationally by the U.S. Department of Education.

  • Identified as an Education Innovator by the United States Department of Education
  • Recognized as a United States Department of Education Blue Ribbon School
  • Over the past five years, more than half the 7th graders tested qualified for the Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP) for academically gifted and talented youth. In 2012, 16 seventh graders scored high enough on the ACT test to receive State Level recognition and/or be eligible to participate in their Center for Summer Studies or Academy for Summer Studies, and 3 qualified for Grand Level recognition. In both 2010 and 2011, 100% of those students tested received state recognition; 4 received national recognition.
  • Standardized testing (IOWA Test of Basic Skills) scores for grades 3 and 5 are consistently ranked in the top 5th percentile of schools. Epstein student scores range from 95% to 99%.
  • Between 2010-2012, Epstein alumni included: 1 Valedictorian, 7 Salutatorians, 7 National Merit Finalists, 6 Governor’s Honors participants, Riverwood High School Student Council President and the Co-Presidents of The Weber School.
  • In 2010, 62% of alumni from The Epstein School class of 2006 were members of the National Honor Society and/or received National Merit Recognition.
  • In 2010-2011, the entire sub-regional board of United Synagogue Youth, four Atlanta Council BBYO officers, and the International Vice President of B’nai B’rith Girls were Epstein graduates.
  • In 2011, 25 students took first place at the North Atlanta Jewish Students Technology Fair (NAJSTF); 4 Epstein students placed in the top 3 at the state competition, the 2011 Georgia Educational Technology Fair.

  • 2012, 25 students took 1st place honors and 47 students placed in the top 3 at the North Atlanta Jewish Students Technology Fair(NAJSTF); 7 Epstein students placed in the top 3 at the state competition, the 2011 Georgia Educational Technology Fair.
  • 2012, Epstein Eagles Track & Field 7th grader Becky Arbiv, competed in the 2012 Georgia State Middle School Championships, and placed 2nd in High Jump, 2nd in Pole Vault and 6th in 300 Meter Hurdles. Three athletes who competed at the 2012 MAAC League Championships (Metro Atlanta Athletic Conference Championships) placed in the top 3.  8th grader Zahava Feldstein, took home the gold with a first place finish in the Pole Vault, and 8th grader Ian Neil also took home 1st place honors in the Long Jump, 1st in the 200 Meter dash and 3rd in the 100 Meter dash.  And Lady Eagle Julia Stern (8th grade) took home silver honors in the Pole Vault.
  • 2012, Epstein Eagles Girls A-Team took Silver Honors at the MAAC Championship Game
  • Over 80% of Epstein lead teachers have master’s degrees.  All K-3rd grade teachers have received additional advanced training in reading instruction and 55% of teachers have been teaching at Epstein for more than five years.
  • The Epstein School’s Sustainable Educational Garden and Pond was awarded Certified Wildlife Habitat status by the National Wildlife Federation.
